Welcome to the 2020 Newsletter.

It seems I've gone from one extreme to the other since my last newsletter to you when I said I was "on the road" a lot (and on the beach, on the grass and in the park with the grandkids too). Since then I have been locked in my studio and working hard. Well, apart from my weekly venture south to Glasgow Print Studio that is, and maybe to Edinburgh...and London too for that matter, so maybe I am not quite the hermit that I thought I was.
 
But I've made a ton of new work and have actually finished the large scale mezzotint I started it at Jerusalem Print Workshop last summer. Mezzotint as some of you know is dead slow. For those of you not so familiar with it, if you were driving your car at this speed you'd be in danger of getting a parking fine! But it is finally on-line and included in this launch of new work. I was tempted to call this my spring newsletter but today is definitely not spring-like. One of the ways that living and working in Jerusalem has impacted me over the years is that I now feel like anything under 12oC is winter. That means that here in Scotland it sometimes feels like we have only two seasons; winter and July!
 
So, having finished all this new work for you, this coming Sunday morning I have decided to have a long lie...maybe til April.

If you are in Scotland there is a chance to see "If Angels Cast Shadows..." (that's the mezzotint, not the entire solo show of the same name from last year in Glasgow and Jerusalem!). I was invited to exhibit it at the Royal Glasgow Institute's Kelly Gallery opened Saturday 18 January 2020 and runs til mid February.
 
I'll be exhibiting different works in Edinburgh at the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition, 28 March - 3 May 2020.
 
I also have a significant solo exhibition of new work scheduled for the end of this year in Scotland. Watch this space...
 
Catalunya? I could have a new mezzotint showing in Barcelona. It's not confirmed yet but being the eternal optimist I'll keep you posted about that too.
