Alisha's newest creations incorporate free form Australian boulder opals. Take a step back to the modernist jewelry designs between 1930 and 1960. Consider how growing up, Alisha was influenced by her mother's 'hippy' and modernist artist friends. Stir in Alisha's generational mix of punk and goth, add a pinch of nature mixed with freeform Australian boulder opal and this is the AWESOME that comes out of the pot!

El Dorado Fire Opal Dragon

Whenever there was a spare minute in December, I would escape the shipping and polishing rooms to steal a creative moment at our design station.  I hoped that I would have the wax original completed in time for this newsletter but perhaps you will find the creative process interesting. The head still requires much detailing before the final wax assembly of this pendant. The dragon will be cast in 18K gold and will embrace a 15ct Mexican fire opal blazing with orange and green opalescence. After time and gold weights are calculated, I will determine the price.

We live in Santa Cruz by the Monterery Bay Marine Sanctuary. Much of our inspiration at Marty Magic is derived from the ocean and the magic of nature. Here is a photo gallery of just a few of our most inspiring beach and coastline experiences.
