 Happy New Decade!!

One of our ways to celebrate at the end of each year is to look back and see all that we have accomplished with our community.  It’s a chance to celebrate, focus on what we have learned to further our mission and determine what we can do in the coming year.  It’s also a time to reflect and rejoice in our caring, compassionate community that works together to see what can be done to make a difference in a dog’s life.  We see our jobs, staff and volunteers as a way to put your gifts and donations to work in bettering the lives of the dogs at the ranch and in our greater community.  We look forward to your commitment to help us do even more in 2020.  Follow us in the New Year and beyond and you will see that we will be taking on new challenges, doing new things and developing new partnerships---all in the mission of
“WE DO IT FOR THE DOGS”.
Below we have provided just a glimpse of all that was accomplished in 2019. We hope you will take a moment to celebrate what our community has achieved.  Please join us in helping to support our mission to have a greater impact in the lives of dogs and their people in 2020 and the decade to come.  If you’ve already given in 2019, thank you for your generosity.  We also ask you to consider another end of year gift. We need to maintain the amazing impact we are having and there are many other dogs in need of our help.  Next year, 2020 and beyond, holds enormous potential to expand our life saving efforts.  If 2019 has been generous to you, we hope you will consider making a financial gift, transferring an appreciated stock to Rescue Ranch or directing your required minimum IRA distribution our way.  Your gift will save lives.  If you would like to donate in other ways to support a decade of life saving, contact us and we can turn your generosity into reality.
Thank you for being part of our community.

Sincerely,
Rescue Ranch Board of Directors
Executive Director, John Golay
Rescue Ranch Staff:  Rick Formanek, Austin Browder, Shana Mokuau, Jodi Wilson, Alex Maghe, Becky Savage

Kitu's Fund Recipients

Benjamin, Waldo, Adam-12, Elvis, Friar, Raymomd, Mako, Milo, Cisco, Bruno

In April 2015, a young Husky/German-Shepherd pup was hit by a car and stranded, left to die.  Kitu’s buoyant, “can do” approach to life has inspired us to develop a special medical needs fund called “Kitu’s Fund” to allow us humans to give back and to help with current and future costs of special-medical-need dogs.  Please consider contributing to the care of these special-needs dogs by specifying a donation to “Kitu’s Fund”. Your donation will only be used to assist with the extra vet care with those dogs with extra special needs. Kitu and all the dogs that have benefited from your generous donations woof their thanks!

This year Kitu's Fund has been able to cover over $30,000 worth of veterinarian expenses.  We would like to give a very special thanks to the Arthur R Dubs Foundation for their generous support to our organization!!

Some of our 2019 Adoptions!!
--Blue is so loved and doing so well ❤️ He knows sit, lay down, wait, gentle and working on loose leash walking. Of course he does all of it when he feels like it LOL but he’s learning!

--We love our boy!!  Shamus (Seimus) so grateful

--We are so lucky to have Trooper. He is such a good little boy and has so much personality.

--Opal, now called Anya is a great addition to our family. She loves exploring her forest home with us and is a good traveler.

--We of course fell in love with “Cheesie” as soon as we saw his baby face for such a big dog. We couldn’t be happier with our sweet boy and all the love he has brought into our house.

--Berrigan and Rocco are ecstatically happy, healthy, active and playful, incredibly loving, and a blessing to all who meet them! Even the staff at their veterinarian’s office say things like, “They are both such GOOD dogs!!” They are, indeed, and we have Rescue Ranch to thank!!!

--Our Grandchildren love and adore Madam Mim and she has been so patient with their young hands. Mim has become our little travel dog enjoying trips to Jacksonville, Gold Beach, North Umpqua and Charleston with lots of future plans this summer.

--Kona truly changed my life. I’m able to go out in public again, able to get out of bed again and able to live my life normally again. I can’t imagine life without him, and I would not be here without him.

--We are so glad we adopted our forever dog from you. Winter had an amazing Christmas with us💕

--Duchess (Dawn) and I want to thank you for saving her, so she and I could be spending Christmases together forever. Merry Christmas to everyone at Rescue Ranch. XOXOXO

Dog Food Donation

Our food bank is growing every year!  This year we have given more than 215 donations of puppy, dog and even cat food.  Averaging 25 pounds of food per person, we estimate more than 5,375 pounds of food has made it into our community to help owners feed their pets.

Thanks to Yreka Tractor Supply and Walmart, Medford's PetSmart, and all of our wonderful supporters who drop off food often!!

Ember's One Year "Gottcha" Day Anniversary

It’s been 1 year since Chris adopted me. Thinking back on my favorite times (not when I ate a 1/2 roll of paper towels or the plastic bag with 3 Roma tomatoes inside) and favorite places. The ocean beach & Curt’s farm are the best places ’cause I can walk around without a leash and smell the best stuff!

Here’s my dream of the perfect day:

1.Waking up on Trisha’s love seat in front of the fireplace
2.Morning walk along Big Lagoon & the agate ocean shoreline.
3.Smelling roast beef cooking – my favorite (Rick my foster person got me hooked on it.)
4.Eating people food!!!!
5.Falling asleep on the couch – not allowed but I climbed up when they weren’t looking.

Had my 4th stroke on Sat. & this one was much worse than the others. I had trouble walking and seeing well for all of Sunday, but I am my old self today. I will only go on short walks for the next week or so but I will be able to roam free at the farm on Thanksgiving.
