The beach is calling me!

Shimmer & Sparkle

So there I was in my craft room rummaging around in my vast supply of Stickles last week (kinda surprised me how many I have!) and I ran across my little Radiant Pearls by Luminart!  Unfortunately, they are discontinued and replaced with Twinkling H2O's.  I have those too, but couldn't put my hands on them.

Here's a simple card that I just wanted to stamp and paint with Radiant Pearls.  I used regular cardstock.  My little pots needed a good amount of stirring to mix well, but other than that they were like I just purchased them!

I'd love to hear how you use your sparkly paints!

Here's a close up of the shimmer in the paint.  I also splattered with Tattered Angels gold and Stickle blobs.

Birthday Card Fun

January is a month with 3 family birthdays.  My BIL's birthday is on the 7th and I needed to get my 'rear in gear' as they say in order to get the card mailed in time.

Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed making this card!  It was one of those creative times when I was totally content to be in my craft space immersed in the sheer satisfaction of working through the process of an idea, watching it develop and being happy with the result, and all with no stress, no pressure and no creative roadblocks!  Click on the photo for my blog post.

A Watercolor Story

Looking at this painting one might say that it's a nice beach scene and you could relate to it in some way.  What I like is the actual story behind the painting!

Since I was 10 years old, my family always had a summer camp on Sandy Pond and boating over to the beach was a highlight.  Back then the dunes were literally the size of mountains and provided entire days of enjoyment.

This painting is of my brother and his wife taking a walk from Sandy Pond, where they anchored their boat, over to Lake Ontario via a sandy path.  The sand "mountains" are gone now and there's not much left of the beach from years of erosion.  However, it is a cherished memory of our family times and of a summer home that my brother and wife love and enjoy to this day.

Have a pleasant week!

XOXO
