On behalf of Toma, Joachim, Nil and Tanar I'd like to invite you to be part of the upcoming edition of our Full Moon gathering:
FULL MOON FOCUS #6: IN CIRCLES.

The sixth edition is all about circles. How we move in circles, how we think in circles, how we orbit around each other. We start by raising a glass to 2020 at 20h23, the exact moment when the moon reaches full phase.

The research of my new work A piece in orbit - drag and circle stone reaches its fourth fase. After experimenting with dragging stones, circling them around each other and a combination of both I'd like to use this gathering to simplify the choreography and still add more layers. Let's hear interesting jazz musicians improvise and see a Turkish Sufi danser work the circle.

Nil Görkem

Sufi whirling (or Sufi turning) is a form of physically active meditation which originated among Sufis, and which is practiced by Sufi Dervishes. It is a meditation practice, through which dervishes aim to reach the source of all perfection, kamal. Nil Görkem will perform Sufi whirling accompanied by Tanar Çatalpınar.

Tanar Çatalpınar

troubadour

Tanar Çatalpinar is a modern troubadour who derives his inspiration from the traditional music of the most remote corners of Anatolia and Mesopotamia. In this video he accompanies himself on the saz. 'Hudey' is an anonymous Sufi song.

Nick Steur

A piece in orbit – drag and circle stone is Nicks new research into matter that pushes and pulls. More than half of all stars are binary: they orbit each other. Invisible to the naked eye but if we zoom in (or out) far enough, all matter is twisting and turning. In his performance Nick will be musically accompanied by Toma and Joachim.
