This Week in C-WE: Fly High!

With aero-dynamics you'll design yourself. This weekend, the Kite Festival of India marks the end of Winter. Children and adults alike will welcome the sun's returning, by flying hand-made kites from their rooftops to make a splash of color across the sky. And with the change to an "International" celebration in 2012, people across the World will be joining in the show of high-flying creativity. Today you'll be part of the party, when you make a kite in your own choice of materials from paper to silk to ribbon. Every age group will love this challenge, in a scissor-free project that begins with the framework of Nantucket's own natural reeds. Go as big as you want--but watch that balance! If you've never succeeded to fly before, you'll learn the trick of making things lift. Practice with our fans inside; then as you head home, let it soar.
