Hi, I'm Amy, and I write this Well Check to help women prioritize themselves too, so they can continue to care well for what's most important to them. Did a friend share this with you? If so, I invite you to subscribe here.
let's celebrate!
Happy International Integrative Health Day, Friend!

IIH Day is January 23, and it celebrates those who have taken an active role in their health by seeking a whole-person approach to their well-being.

"Integrative health care often brings conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way," explains the National Institutes of Health.

"It emphasizes a holistic, patient-focused approach to health care and wellness—often including mental, emotional, functional, spiritual, social, and community aspects—and treating the whole person rather than, for example, one organ system. It aims for well-coordinated care between different providers and institutions."

Does your health care feel integrated and coordinated? If not, what might be one step you can take toward that?

In my integrative health coaching practice, we take this whole-person approach, too. A client may show up to the first coaching session with a goal to lose weight, for example. But we don't focus solely on a number to achieve. We connect that goal to other areas of the client's life. How does this goal relate to the client's nutrition? Exercise? Other areas?

We focus on forming lasting habits that fit into a person's life and benefit their whole health - and that is worth celebrating every day!

(If you know someone who would like to explore whether coaching is right for them, I invite you to share this email with them, so they can schedule a free discovery session.)

And if you'd like to join me in celebrating International Integrative Health Day today, pick one or two of these ideas (or share one of your own!):
  • Eat a healthy meal, being fully present to the experience, without the distractions of telephones, televisions, or computers.
  • Make a gratitude list.
  • Journal about how your spiritual or religious beliefs relate to your health.
  • Mindfully complete a chore or assignment, paying full attention to what you are doing and the sensations in your body.
  • Choose a book that will further your personal or professional growth and dive in.
  • Declutter one small area of your home or office that's been bugging you.
  • Sit or walk outside in silence for a couple of minutes, noticing the surrounding sounds, sights, smells.
However you choose to celebrate today, I hope you'll celebrate you and all the baby steps you've taken lately toward improving your life and health. They all count!

With grace and space for a healthier you,
Amy
