Tips
How to Avoid a Default 101
Organizing a team for an Intramural League or Tournament is hard enough! Here are 7 tips on how to avoid defaulting if your team does not have enough players for your game:

1. Be Prepared to Play
  • Make sure your team is at your game location with the minimum amount of players within 5 minutes of your game start time.
2. Get Your Players on IMLeagues
  • Don't let your hard earned win go to waste! Ensure new players are on IMLeagues by 12pm the next business day after your game to avoid a default.
3. Contact Free Agents on IMLeagues
  • Click on "Free Agents" at the top of the IMLeagues page in your league and message to one of the players listed to join your team!
4. Recruit a Nomad Player
  • If you know anyone that plays in the league, ask them to play on your team as a Nomad for the night! Alternatively, you can recruit a nomad from players that just finished a game.
5. Talk to Your Unit Manager
  • If your team is affiliated with a Unit, contact your Unit Manager to see if there are people that want to play!
6. Contact the Women's Intramural Network (WIN) 7. Get Your Game Rescheduled
  • Teams wishing to reschedule one of their games must follow a three-step process (see page 17 of the Policies and Procedures Manual for more information):
  1. Contact the opposing Captain.
  2. Contact the Captains of two teams playing at another desired time.
  3. If all four captains agree to switch game times, contact the league’s Recreation Facilitator
If you still don't have enough players despite these options, contact your league's Recreation Facilitator to forfeit your game!
