Happy New Year 2020!
Welcome to our January E-Newsletter which outlines the special and regularly scheduled events for the upcoming month. We also highlight the new logo banner for District 23, so that we are aligned with the National office of the organization.
Traditionally January is the month for new beginnings and resolutions for a happy, healthy life in the new year. For most of our readers, January allows a return to familiar and favourite activities within North York. For our newly retired members, this issue marks their first introduction to the events District 23 can offer in their retirement years.
The majority of our regular events are up and running this month and will begin the week of January 14 (with the exception of the North York Strollers, Cycling and Nordic Pole Walking.) We hope you can join us to meet new friends or renew familiar acquaintances!
The next issue of STONY Bridges will be published in March, 2020. Submissions are encouraged, and you can view the details on page 2 of the current issue of STONY Bridges. All of your entries should be emailed to:
mpcapotosto@sympatico.ca no later than January 15, 2020.
If you would prefer to have an electronic version of STONY Bridges delivered to your home email address, please contact Merv Mascarenhas at: mervyn.mascarenhas@outlook.com to make the necessary arrangements for your preference.
As always, please note that STONY Bridges provides full details for all District 23 events and the registration forms to participate. If you do not have your current issue handy, it can be located online at our District 23 website at:

We have not yet seen the full arrival of winter for those who are outdoor activity enthusiasts: wishing you the wintry conditions you need. For those who enjoy sunnier climates: we wish you safe travels and look forward to your return in the spring. For those who embrace what our city offers in the winter: great sports events with the Raptors and the Maple Leafs, Winterlicious events, the arrival of Hamilton the Musical, District 23 activities and time with friends and family, know that we are here for you!
