CHRISTMAS PARTY & FLOORSHOW REVIEW
FLOORSHOW
John H, Tommy W, Gary W, John M, Mark B, Steve C & Jim C did us proud with a humorous floorshow of "Synchronised Swimming". It was so well received, the crowd was yelling out for more.
It should be noted that these guys showed such dedication in turning up each week for practice at one of the busiest times of the year. CONGRATULATIONS & well done!

THE NIGHT
This year's Christmas Party was simply brilliant. We had one of Perth's best dance bands, The Merzies
Doors opened 7:30 pm and the crowd & atmosphere built. Some people attended their first dance and we're guessing they'll be looking for more in 2020.
GOLD CARD WINNER
Although everyone had a great night, one lucky lady had a brilliant night ...Yvette T. was this years winner of our annual JDK Gold Card. Yvette now has unlimited free classes for all of 2020 as well as free entry into every dance we run for herself and a friend or partner. CONGRATS Yvette, we'd love to see lots of you and as with past winners we hope it gives to everything you need to expand your dancing knoweledge & have as much fun as possible.
Next year's prize is going to be even bigger & better (watch this space).
Hats off to our 2019 winner, John M. who drew Yvette's name out and was himself such a gracious & worthy winner. We are pleased to say we really got to know John well (even better than before). What a gentleman and someone we are proud to call a friend!

HOW TO LEARN
It's really necessary to commit to a whole course before you can say you've tried it as it's not possible to enjoy it without the WCS "feeling" in your movement.
Lesson 1. Learn the basics steps
Lesson 2. Revise the steps learnt & get some practice
Lesson 3. Learn more basics & get more practice
Lesson 4, 5, & 6. Learn more basic moves but start understanding & most importantly start feeling WCS
Cost: $15 per night

What is American Smooth?
This is when we break hold with our partner. You may have done moves with us in the past like "Open Waltz" or "Balance & Box", these are actually Smooth steps.
In regular ballroom waltz you technically can’t break hold with your partner but on a social dance floor adding in some Smooth steps opens a lot of possibilities. Because of this open position the steps are often more simplistic versions of Standard Waltz with more simplistic timing. Usually it’s always “1 2 3” timing with less variations like “1 2 & 3” etc.
Open Waltz & Balance & Box are very popular steps so we know you are going to love adding some more moves like that into your repertoire.

TUESDAY TECHNIQUE CLASS
Start the year off with a committment to being your best.
Most of us have had the feeling of dancing with someone and it just feels like you are floating across the floor.
If you want to know how to recreate that feeling for yourself, then you need to learn proper movement. This is what you will learn in our Technique Class. It requires a bit of work and persistence but if you want be the best version of you, then this is the way to do it! No medals, just correct technique.
Who would have thought that expanding your understanding of dancing would make what you already know even more fun.
