Support for TLS 1.1 ending by 29 February 2020

In 2018 RAMM removed use of TLS 1.0 and below for use with secure connections. This was in line with global industry practice due to the end of life for TLS 1.0 as a protocol for securing HTTPS. We are now moving to deprecate TLS 1.1 by removing support for this protocol on or before 29 February 2020. This is in line with industry standards for PCI (and the main browser vendors) that deem TLS 1.1 insecure and are removing it as a supported protocol in early 2020. Support For Web Browsers

From January 2020 we will only be providing support for our software using Chrome or Firefox web browsers.

What this means is from January 2020 we will no longer be testing our software to ensure it works using IE11. The main reason for this change is that some time ago, Microsoft said they would no longer support new web standards in IE11. Since this announcement, most software development companies around the world have stopped testing for IE compatibility, as it is simply uneconomic to continue such testing.

Testing is now focused on modern browsers, such as Chrome and Firefox.

What does this mean for you? By mid 2020 nearly all of our applications that you need to use on a daily basis will be in HTML5 – meaning they will work absolutely fine in Chrome. We will have retired all of our Silverlight applications, so there will be no need to use IE11.
