December Commendations
On December 10, we recognized the extraordinary achievements of Ithaca City School District students and staff at the first Commendation Ceremony of the 2019-2020 school year!
The purpose of the quarterly ceremonies is to celebrate the success of Team ICSD members who go above and beyond in school, extracurriculars, or the community. EDD Pitch Night
On December 18, teams of students in Ithaca High School's Engineering Design and Development (EDD) class participated in a Shark Tank-style Pitch Night at Rev: Ithaca Startup Works, in hopes of securing a share of $2,500 in funding to help them develop a new product or service.
EDD, the capstone course of IHS' Project Lead the Way sequence of pre-engineering courses, gives seniors the opportunity to use previously developed skills - such as computer-aided design, manufacturing, and coding - to engineer solutions to real-world problems. The funding awarded at Pitch Night helps teams develop prototypes, conduct further research, and test their proposed products during the spring semester. Read more>>
