The holidays are past, but I worked on Christmas presents - zipper pouches, hot pads and a few ornaments including this one for our son and daughter-in-law's tree in Nashville covered in lace from her wedding dress from October 2018.
I'm honored that my Chaco I based on a photograph of the Pueblo Bonito at Chaco Canyon has been accepted into an invitational exhibit at the Oceanside Museum of Art - Southern California Contemporary Quilts - opening in April and running through the summer. More information closer to the opening.
Finished quilts, large and small as well as greeting cards of some of my work are available from my shop on Etsy.com
I recently updated the slideshow of work from my studio.... enjoy!
A modern quilt featuring a few of the traditional Dear Jane blocks from the 19th century by Jane Stickle made famous by Brenda Papadakis' book. Paper pieced blocks in cotton solids on a free motion quilted ground.

Road to California 2020!
The largest quilt show and marketplace in the West - Road To California - Opens January 23rd and I am thrilled that the quilt above has been juried into the Showcase. D + O Double Happiness has been under wraps for a while until I could present it to my son and daughter-in-law David and Olivia for their first wedding anniversary. I gave it to them when they were visiting with us in November with the caveat that if it got into Road they would have to wait until February to actually take possession. It's a very modern take on the traditional double wedding ring quilts of the past with a bit of improvisational piecing thrown in. I began it at Empty Spools Seminars at Asilomar (my very favorite quilting destination) last March in a class with the wonderful Victoria Findlay Wolfe and finished it over the summer.
Also at Road this year....
Hemerocallis: Beauty For a Day (above) and Furoshiki I (below) are both part of the Southern California Council of Quilt Guilds Exhibit at Road this year Challenge 2020 - Honoring Road To California which honors the 25th anniversary of Road To California by featuring quilts from Southern California Guilds which have been influenced by Road classes or fabrics or patterns purchased at Road. I learned the whole cloth painted technique of Hemerocallis in a class with Susan Brubaker Knapp at Road several years ago and some of the fabric in Furoshiki was a Road purchase.
All of the 20" X 20" quilts in the Cherrywood Bob Ross Challenge will also be displayed at Road this year including my entry Color Me Bob.
