It's great to share the holidays with pickleball friends, whether at drop-in, for those here in the county, or only in our hearts.

Silverthorne Rec Center Schedule Changes on January 6

Starting the first full week in January, we'll have extra playing time on Mondays at the Silverthorne Rec Center. Note that playing time will be split by skill level with a 90-minute break in between. The Rec Center will not allow play during the break, favoring general use of the gym during that time.

Players who rate themselves advanced or high-intermediate, i.e., USAPA level 3.5+, will play 7-10 AM. Players who consider themselves intermediate or beginner, i.e., USAPA level 1.0-3.0, will play 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. As a courtesy to other players during the crowded winter, please play in only one session.

New Pickleball Classes and Mixers at Silverthorne Rec Center

The Silverthorne Rec Center is offering beginner pickleball classes each Monday from January 13 to February 17 from 2:30-4:30 PM. Each session is $12. Classes will be taught by SCPA board members Lori Miller and Julie Worthington. Each class is independent, so you can sign up for one or more. Click here for more info and a link to sign up.

Note: There should also be some Skills and Drills sessions this winter that haven't been scheduled yet. Check back at the link immediately above.

Competitive pickleball mixers, which were so popular last year, are also back. Advanced mixers will be each Thursday, February 20 to March 26 from 12 to 2 PM. Intermediate mixers will be each Wednesday, March 3 to March 25 from 9 to 11 AM. Each mixer is independent, so you can sign up for one or more. $12/mixer. Short fuse: Two Upcoming Tournaments

Northern Front Range Pickleball in Greeley is looking for one additional 4.5, one 4.0, two 3.5 and two 3.0 mixed doubles teams for their New Year's Eve tournament. Click here for more info. Contact Orlie Carpio, 970-631-6998 or Orlie.carpio@gmail.com, by early Sunday, December 29 to enter.

Please Help Show Rec Departments Drop-in Participation Levels

We're asking that everyone add their names to a daily list of drop-in players so that we're better able to convince town and county recreation departments of the need for more courts/court time.
