2019 Year-End Highlights from The Space

The response to The Space On Main (The Space) has been overwhelmingly positive. By mid-December 2019 (14 months in), The Space has been visited by an average of 510 people per month and over 7,440 people total. Participants have driven from Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and Quebec, Canada to attend events. Day Pass users have visited from as far away as California (the result of a Google search to make sure there was a coworking space in the region that this individual wanted to buy a house). At least a dozen other VT/NH/MA community projects have reached out for support, advice, or assistance to create similar spaces for their communities. We get several requests per week to help individuals connect with area resources, to help them network, or to become more civically engaged members of their communities. Thank you to the organizations, partners, and supporters who have hosted events, offered support, and donated - we cannot do this without you. And thank you to the thousands of people who have visited The Space - you continue to make The Space the special place that it is. You can view/download the full one-page report here.

Check out our new promo video, featured below! We, quite literally, cannot do this work without your support. With supporters like you we can transform our regional community. Please consider helping us make a strong start in 2020. Thank you! <3

In Recent Media

Zulkoski: Farmers Almanac says, change is coming. "We saw overwhelming support from local leadership for innovative economic development strategies in rural communities creating coworking and maker spaces, business accelerators and incubators, remote working hubs, business collaboratives and above all else, entrepreneurs. As of today, there are almost 40 coworking and maker spaces throughout Vermont. Each has a unique audience, business model and catchment area but a similar unifying vision: be THE local hub for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and remote workers." Read the full article: Vermont Biz.

Your Office By the Slopes "In mountain towns around Vermont, skiers and riders are setting up remote offices so they never miss a powder day." Read the full article: VT Ski & Ride.

Q&A: Gwen Pokalo of Center for Women & Enterprise: We connect people "The two-person Vermont CWE is part of a larger Boston-based nonprofit that has been around since 1995, with offices in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. CWE’s goal is to provide the networking and education that early-stage entrepreneurs need to get their businesses off the ground." Read the full article: VT Digger.
