KBAD To Elect Officers

At the January 16 membership meeting, KBAD members will vote for officers to serve on the board of directors. While many of the current officers are running for another term, we expect vacancies for two at-large positions and for vice chair. The nominations committee has already received nominations from a few individuals and is still accepting applicants until January 10.

KBAD chair Diana Robinson has appointed KBAD members Connie Madia, Deborah Chavez and Genest Harding as the nominations committee, which will review candidates and recommend a slate that will be presented at the January 16 meeting. If you would like to be considered for a board member position, please contact Connie by email by January 10 and provide background information about yourself as well as your vision, ideas and priorities for KBAD.

Members can also nominate other members from the floor at the January 16 meeting, but those nominees will not be a part of the slate recommended by the nominations committee unless nominees have submitted their information to the committee by the deadline for consideration.

To learn more about the responsibilities and roles of the KBAD Board of Directors and the board officers, please review the Bylaws posted on the KBAD website.

VOLUNTEERS ASSEMBLE!

When January 1, 2020, arrives we will have less than seven weeks until early voting starts on February 18 for the March 3 primary election. After the primary, there will be just a few months to educate and engage people to vote in the November 3 election.

We need to assemble an army of volunteers to help with the important work of reaching our voters who are busy living their lives and possibly not paying attention to the daily news and the threats to our democracy.

Even if you can just give only a few hours a week, we want to know what you are willing and able to do to help by completing this form.

Some examples of help needed include the following:

  • voter registration
  • scouting locations for signs
  • organizing social events
  • reaching out to key groups (young people and Spanish-speaking people)
  • writing postcards
  • helping with data entry
  • sign squad
  • any other talents you want to offer

PLEASE SIGN UP TO BE A VOLUNTEER TODAY!
