A Decade Ends, But Large-Scale Data Breaches Are Far From Over

A number of high-profile breaches took place in 2019 and vendors cranked out regular security updates—a positive movement in helping organizations be more aware of the range of vulnerabilities and the need for timely patching. During the holiday season, phishing scams and malware threats have an opportunity to succeed as employees tend to be distracted by holiday stress and responsibilities. To minimize these threats, organizations need to give themselves a ‘refresher course’ in prevention, with practices outlined in this article.
