2020 Changes

School
A few changes are in-store in 2020 for Charlie. He will continue to teach industrial arts I, drafting, and study hall along with adding industrial arts II. Industrial arts II will be offered for the first time at BFA in Spring 2020! Charlie started preparing last year for this curriculum. Please pray for him as he finishes writing and developing the curriculum for this course. As you would expect, he is excited to finally get to teach it. He will also continues to working with the maintenance team.

Home Missionary Assignment
Home Missionary Assignment (HMA) is the term our mission organization uses for when a missionary spends time in their home country while remaining on active missionary status. As Americans living in Germany, we are legally obligated every 5 years to leave Germany for a year and a day. This is called totalization. Our totalizaiton year will be our HMA year. This will start in July 2020 for our family. We plan on living in Nebraska with my, Alyson's, parents. During this time we will be working on partner development to meet our financial needs to return to Germany in July 2021 for another 5 years of service. As well as doing work as needed for Teach Beyond state side. During this year we will remain on support.

We are looking forward to meeting up with as many of you as possible during our year in the states.

Praises and Prayer request:

Pray for healing and decisions for Charlie’s co-worker who has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of lymphoma.
Pray for Charlie and Clarence for wisdom and making good connections with the boys in their TNT (AWANA) group. Grades 3-6.
Praise that God continues to be faithful with providing extra help for the maintenance department.
Praying for staffing for 2020-2021 school year.

HMA

Praying for the possibility and logistics of having subleters in our apartment in Germany.
Pray for us to be wise and intentional as we prepare for this transition individually and as a family.
Praying for opportunities to share our story with individuals and churches while on HMA.

School Events:

School starts back on January 7, 2020. Pray for safe travels as staff and students return.
Finals will be held January 21-24.
New Semester starts January 27.
