2019 has been so busy, I thought I would drop in another brief newsletter to aid your digestion towards the next year.
Talking of food, interviewing Professor David Hughes, aka Dr Food, was an eyeopener on what lies ahead for UK food and farming - see details in my latest blog
The Times’ letter Editor favoured me with eight letters published this year since my first in 1999.
I’m doing a retrospective on Twitter #blackgullview – so here’s my first one
And 120th below from Dec. There’s been a few in between but I won’t bore you now!
My article on lead shot continues to garner replies in the Shooting Gazette – one here (below) encourages the shooting community not to fear the transition - there’s news in the new year to come.
I’m at both the Oxford Farming conferences in the second week of January (7 – 9th) and chairing an event at the Oxford Real on the 9th at 10.30 (on finance) and mooching around the press room at the other conf – come and have a chat at either.
A Twitter poll provided an interesting response on how I come across to punters. In reality I intend to carry on the complex stuff as reflected within this ‘apology’ vlog - perhaps a ‘reconciliation’ tour ['Birds of a letter’] based on how to argue and not fall out series of interactive talks around some of my provocative Times letters or this one just out in the Guardian re burning uplands? https://twitter.com/blackgull/status/1211344117378289674?s=19
Thoughts and funding ideas welcome
Finally a thermal woodcock in pasture in the Black Mountains – happy New year!
