What a beautiful year in Durham!

Dear Friends and Supporters:
As another year comes to a close, we want to thank you for being someone who cares about your community and our shared environment.
Since 2004, Keep Durham Beautiful has been a vital local resource in helping to keep Durham clean, green and beautiful.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Keep Durham Beautiful and its network of community-based organizations, schools, and nonprofits engage thousands of volunteers to transform our public spaces into beautiful places … the places we call home.
Our volunteers take part in cleanup, recycling and beautification programs that positively affect our quality of life. Last year 3,290 volunteers planted 424 trees and 3,910 pollinator plants at schools, picked up 60,928 lbs of litter, and almost 6,944 cigarette butts! We gave away 250 trees, 22,000 flower bulbs, and trained 48 tree keepers, making our Durham community greener.
Our yearly programming – Big Sweep, Tree Plantings, Tree and Flower Giveaways, Creek Week, Skip the Straw, Tire Recycling, Pollinator Habitat Preservation, Tree Keepers, Cigarette Litter Prevention, Adopt a Street and Adopt a Bus Stop, and unique community Beautification Projects – all cost money to keep up.
This is why we're asking for your support on this last day of 2019.
Every dollar will help us invest in programs and services that drive behavior change among members of the Durham community, tied to measurable impact on the true economic value of our work. Through the generosity of volunteers, supporters and donors like you, Keep Durham Beautiful is delivering on our mission to engage and inspire individuals to take greater responsibility for our community spaces.
How could your tax-deductible contribution make an impact this year?
- $500 funds a community beautification grant
- $400 funds a litter pickup kit for an entire elementary classroom
- $250 builds a community pollinator garden
- $100 buys 10 litter grabbers, our most popular tools
- $50 buys one 6-ft tall street tree for an under-served community or school
- $25 helps us start a small school pollinator garden
- $10 buys ten pairs of gloves for volunteer work days
