Castro Cares

Thank you for your continued support. We can't do what we do without YOU!
Castro Cares Street Outreach
We're so glad we have John Rivie as the Street Outreach worker for Castro Cares! He is thoroughly committed to a harm reduction model and meeting people "where they are". John has been working with Castro Cares since August 2018.  He's developing relationships with people and people on the street know they can trust him. So much of being willing to accept a referral for shelter or housing, being willing to go to substance abuse treatment, even being willing to accept medical treatment is about trust and John is building trust.

Episode 2: What to Do?

Episode 1: Helping Hands

Castro Cares brings added enforcement AND homeless outreach directly to the Castro through face to face interactions. Castro Cares collaborates with city services and is supplemental to city services. You become part of the solution by providing helping hands to those in need.
