Looking back on the year 2019

It is that time once again, where we reflect back on the year, count all our blessings, share our accomplishments, and look forward to 2020.

Every year our health goals for our community expand, and we cherish the opportunity to work with families in our area.

Here is a recap of 2019 at New Beginnings Chiropractic.

1) Dr. Brenda Trudell has officially completed her Pediatric and Prenatal Certification with the ICPA. This means she has completed over 200 hours of additional coursework in 15 different modules on prenatal, pediatric and family chiropractic; continued her Webster Certification by passing an additional exam and completing an Advanced Perinatal class; participated in two research studies for chiropractic; and passed an extensive exam covering all the modules. Having completed Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP) means that Dr. Brenda has extensive training, knowledge, expertise and experience working with the preconception, perinatal, and pediatric populations. This broader examination toolbox and skill set means that more pregnant women, babies, kids and families will receive the care they need and lead a healthier life and fulfill their life potential.

2) Dr. Brenda also had her first article published in Pathways to Family Wellness Magazine! This has been a dream come true for Dr. Brenda, as this international magazine is read by chiropractors, medical professionals, perinatal and birth providers, and PARENTS worldwide. Here is a link to her article.

3) NBC has been able to give back to the community through donations and fundraising. We collected diapers for infants in need; money and food for Mt Horeb Food Pantry; school supplies; gifts and funds for the Giving Tree; raised money for CCS; donated to Rotary, Optimists and other youth and sports groups.

4) NBC had another record breaking year serving pregnant women, babies and kids in 2019! We saw patients with ear infections, colic, birth trauma, breast feeding challenges, bed wetting, pubic symphysis pain, infertility, breech presentation, tongue tie, constipation, torticollis, allergies, autism, and SPD. We look forward to improving the health and well-being of families in our community. Over 60% of our practice is prenatal and pediatrics!

5) Dr. Brenda has collaborated with other birth professionals in our area to create the Driftless Area Prenatal and Postpartum Community! DAPPC will connect prenatal providers (midwives, doulas, OB's, chiropractors, lactation specialists, childbirth educators, nurses, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc) with women and families in need. Our goal is to serve the Driftless Area (Mt Horeb, Barneveld, Verona, Sauk Prairie, Dodgeville, Black Earth, Mazomanie, Spring Green, and more) with prenatal resources, education, and a sense of community and connection. Access to resources outside of the Madison area can be a challenge, and this group will provide in-house and virtual resources, plus connect moms in areas to create a sense of community. We are very excited to offer drop-in breastfeeding clinics and other  educational opportunities at NBC. Please follow us and share with moms and moms-to-be!

6) Dr. Brenda is also following another passion of hers, helping couples conceive naturally, to create healthy babies and strong families! Dr. Brenda has been training under Dr. Marcia Schaefer, founder of the Schaefer Protocol, and is honored to bring this knowledge to our community. This protocol has limitless potential for improving health, but has a stellar record at assisting couples to conceive naturally by improving overall health. Healthy people should be able to get pregnant easily, and have healthy and beautiful pregnancies, deliveries, moms and babies. Stay tuned for more information about this protocol, and how we will take improving the health of our community to the next level in 2020!

7) In addition to training with the ICPA and Dr. Schaefer, Dr. Brenda is continuing to broaden her knowledge in all areas surrounding the perinatal time. She took a Spinning Babies workshop to learn additional tools to help her pregnant patients. She has taken additional tonal chiropractic technique training through MC2 to assist with prenatal and pediatric patients. She taught a group of doulas about the benefits of prenatal chiropractic for their clients. She collaborated with Dr. Dan Bronstein on a webinar about Milestones for Infant Development. Dr. Brenda is passionate about learning as much as possible about the perinatal period, and helping families reach their full potential.

We look forward to our 13th Anniversary in February, and want to thank our NBC family for your love, support and trust. We could not do any of this without you! We look forward to making 2020 and even better year, and creating a bigger impact on our community!

Yours in Love and Health,

Dr. Brenda Trudell
