S3 Newsletter #4/2019

December 2019

Dear Friend,

During 2019 we have managed - what looks like - endless projects and activities and ... rather suddenly, we are (almost) already in 2020!
To tie up this period of multiple initiatives, here is our new Newsletter, which, we hope, reflects such an exceptional and outstanding year for us.

We have, amongst many other things, started an interesting academic collaboration with the #1 business school in Spain.
In sourcing, Miguel Angel Burges’ inspection and coordination trip stands out, due to its intense, unprecedented agenda.
In regard to teaching activities we have some articles, which emphasize the various courses in Europe that we have taught during the past quarter.
But there is more: S3 on LinkedIn, Chinese consumers in 2020 according to McKinsey, a new team member in the Shanghai office, etc.

We wish you all a pleasant and informative reading of this newsletter and above all Happy Holidays and a fabulous 2020, full of success and good health
!

Warm regards from Barcelona!

Academic collaboration with
IESE Business School

Despite having already completed 5 (five!) years of training services, as part of the company's range of activities (see www.GroupS3.com), we still didn’t have a collaboration with the #1 business school in Spain, IESE Business School.

Miguel Angel Burges' inspection and coordination trip to China

As always in the period just before or after the National Holiday in China (October 1), Miguel Angel Burges, S3 Sourcing Operations Manager, has completed his main inspection and coordination visit.

New initiatives in management education

Again lots of news items in terms of business teaching at universities and business schools, in particular collaborations with Karel de Grote and Thomas More (both in Belgium), Toulouse Business School (France), UIBS, EAE and OBS.

The Chinese consumer in 2020,
according to McKinsey

The renowned strategic management consultancy McKinsey analyzes the perspectives of the Chinese market every year, and focuses on the most groundbreaking element of the last decade: the rise of the middle class.

A new team member at S3 Shanghai

It has been some time since we heard of new hires at our Shanghai Office.
With the addition of Mark Pu, as a new Assistant Sourcing in Operations, a well-trained professional is joining our team, led locally by Sarah Zhi
.

S3 at social networks: LinkedIn

In our previous Newsletter we discussed the presence of S3 Group on the Internet, with a complete overhaul of the entire  www.GroupS3.com website.
From now on and in all future editions, we will consider our presence on social networks.
We start by focusing on the professional social platform par excellence: LinkedIn
!

Something entirely different...

As usual, we finish our SNewsletter with a few topics that are only loosely (or not at all) linked to the business world.
This time we continue the two lists we started in previous editions: one on the most interesting books about China and the other about major Chinese cities that are most likely not well known by the general public, although they are relevant for a variety of reasons.
We end with a brief news item about a segment of the entertainment industry in China that recently seems to be reaching maturity.

Wanna read again the Newsletter we sent out three months ago?

Thought about that news item we published and that you wanted to share with a colleague?
Can't remember that picture you saw and wanted to show to your friend?
Or... simply can't get enough of it and want to read again what we published some time ago?
We know the feeling: just click on the image next to this text and... off you go!
