Discipling Matt

Matt (21) is the newest member of Grace Fellowship Church. I've been tasked with assisting my pastors in discipling him. Matt is deeply committed to evangelism and he has an infectious desire to grow in faith and godliness.

Matt and I meet weekly for discipleship, which consists of conversation and counsel, prayer, study, and street evangelism. We're presently working our way through J.C. Ryle's book, "Holiness."

I am very thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to disciple another young man. I look forward to what the Lord will do in both our lives, through the process.

Remembering My Friend with a New Gospel Tract

In 2007, part of my ministry was co-hosting a radio program (Last Words Radio), on KKLA, Southern California’s largest Christian radio network. Sounds impressive, doesn’t it? The show aired Saturday nights at 10:30 PM–the time of day when only close friends and family listen to your radio show because you asked them to.

One of our faithful listeners was someone from Topeka, Kansas, of all places. In our chat room, he went by the moniker “Zookeeper Kevin.” Kevin was a faithful listener (one of the few). He would call into the program with questions about evangelism and invariably had something encouraging to say.

That’s how I met Kevin Mollahan.

From 2008-2012, I served with Living Waters as the director of the Ambassadors’ Academy. I invited Kevin to participate in the academy in 2009 and again in 2010.

I’ve known Kevin for about a dozen years. Over the years, our friendship grew. Even though we would see each other only occasionally, usually at Christian conferences, we stayed in touch on social media. From time to time, Kevin would send my family a word of encouragement, in a card. And each year at Christmas-time we would receive a card–always with a Peanuts theme. My entire family grew fond of Kevin.

Kevin went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2019.

Bus Station Ministry

With winter begin what is in Iowa, I have to move some of my evangelism ministries indoors. My city's bus station is a good place to do just that. Here are the audios for two recent conversations I had inside the bus station:

Confronting Keith's Pride

Keisha Hears the Gospel

Abortuary Ministry

For the first time in seven years of abortuary ministry, I went to an abortuary and no babies were murdered that day. Ryan and I went to the Emma Goldman abortuary last week, on a day when abortions usually take place. But not this day. For whatever reason, they didn't kill children that morning.

While Ryan and I didn't have to plead for any lives and souls entering the abortuary that morning, the Lord still had an assignment for us. By His divine providence, we had the opportunity to communicate the gospel to a homeless man named Terry. Here's the video:
