December 2019 MSP Audio Geeks meetup - now in January!

Wednesday, January 1, 2020

After much consideration & discussion we are opting to cancel tonight's meetup due to the weather & road conditions. Many apologies for any inconvenience but we want you all to stay safe out there!

Happily, we have rescheduled this event for this Wednesday, January 1st! The time & location remain the same. We hope you can join us Wednesday night!

The December 2019 MSP Audio Geeks meetup is this Wednesday, January 1st from 7-9pm at Wild Sound Recording Studio. Thanks to fellow audio geek Matt Holmes for hosting us! Special guests Chris & Yoli Mara, of Welcome to 1979, will host a fun discussion - Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Getting Vinyl Records Pressed, And More!

From their website:
Established in 2008 by husband and wife team Chris and Yoli Mara, Welcome to 1979 has grown to become a multi-faceted recording studio integral to the Nashville community. The 13,000 square foot facility is housed in a former record pressing plant; the music history hits you as soon as you step foot in the door.

We’ve spent the last 11 years cultivating a comfortable and creative atmosphere for artists to make music – and our gear list and clients reflect that!

Wild Sound Recording Studio is celebrating its 25th year in business. Started by engineer Matthew Zimmerman, it is owned and operated by producer engineer Steve Kaul. Assistant engineers – Matt Holmes and Joshua Parlanti. Studio booking by Serena Brook. We do Classical, Jazz, Folk, Country, World Music, Rock, Remote Recording and Sound for Film.

Invite your friends & join us for an evening of audio geekery! All are welcome to attend. If you are planning to attend please RSVP to mspaudiogeeks at gmail dot com.

Audio Society of MN

Tuesday, January 21, 2020

The next Audio Society of MN meeting is on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. It will be a Bring and Brag meeting. More details to come.

The Audio Society of Minnesota is a noncommercial hobby organization incorporated in 1979. We present monthly meetings from September to May/June of each year where we discuss, learn about, and experience the latest and greatest audio gear and software. Of course, we also operate this web page.

We support all audiophile interests. We have tube freaks and solid-state freaks, people who only listen to digital and people who would be happy if digital had never been invented, folks who have never seen an LP in their lives and others who have thousands, members who think nothing of making major expenditures for audio gear and others who are interested in the best bang for their buck, some with advanced degrees in engineering and some who don't know an Ohm from a Watt, those who think of their hobby as a science and those who think of it as an art. But we all have one thing in common: We love music and we love to hear it accurately and emotionally recreated in our homes.

Join: Individuals may join the ASM at any time by paying the annual dues of $25 at any meeting. Club dues for those who join after our December break are just $15.

The Audio Society of MN is currently on its summer hiatus. To find out more, check out their website at audiomn.org or their Facebook page at facebook.com/audiosocietyofmn.
