Every community deserves to have an engaged group of citizens, passionate about doing their part to make the world a better place.

Communities that are alive, dynamic and purposeful. Where individuals of all ages engage in community based volunteerism as a concrete way to share their values with children, neighbors and friends.

Where service is not just about giving but also about receiving; enriching the lives of the doer, leveraging strengths and feeding awakened passions. Where participants grow deeper in relationships, know their communities more intimately and take opportunities to practice empathy, gratitude and self-awareness.

Our work to cultivate a Community of Doers, is doing this on the North Shore. While many organizations today are asking for your year-end gift, we are asking for your New Year’s resolution. Resolve to enter this new decade, committed to positively impacting lives and the communities in which we live.

Nothing we have been able to accomplish or look forward to achieving will be possible without you.

Resolve to be a vital part of defining the coming decade. Consider a monthly gift of $20 in 2020.

Thank you for your passion, partnership and generosity.

With gratitude and well wishes for a Happy New Year,
Jocelyn Cook

Our 2019 impact and 2020 goals
As a result of your passion, partnership and generosity, this year our collective impact includes:
  • Engaging 1,193 households in our mission
  • Mobilizing 926 volunteers, of which 256 were under the age of 10
  • Organizing 48 volunteer events
  • Accruing 2,073 volunteer hours
  • Preparing 1,540 servings of food for shelters
  • Assembling 700 personal care kits
  • Growing & harvesting 440 lbs of organic produce for local food pantries
  • Rescuing 2,600 lbs of prepared food from Shubie’s and redirecting to those in need
  • Providing 662 new backpacks full of school supplies and 612 Holiday Bundles of Cheer
  • Designing and building, in partnership with Tower School, an 8’ x 10’ playhouse with summer campers and gifting to a local social service agency for therapeutic use
THANK YOU for helping to make this possible!

Looking ahead, some of our top priorities in 2020 are to engage more broadly the communities of Lynn and Salem – increasing our volunteer opportunities, recruiting new Board members and working to see greater connections built relationally across the four communities we serve.

We are introducing a Lunch and Learn event and will be hosting our Summer Fling at a new venue.

Behind the scenes, we are continuing to work on strengthening our youth enrichment program, planning an exciting partnership with Stone and Compass and working on design build plans for 2020 Camp InSPURation.

Your financial partnership will help build and sustain the vital infrastructure needed to continue our growing impact.

Stay tuned, spread the word and actively engage.
