Welcome back to the Roaring 20's!

Ok, so maybe the return of the 20's won't come with all of the above, but what 2020 means to me is THE NOTORIOUS VIRTUES comes out this year, and has all of the above, with a dash of magic for good measure!

As you can see by my 2019 Best Nine, last year was pretty dominated by creating THE NOTORIOUS VIRTUES and I'm so excited for it to find its way into the world this year.

My 2020 Plans

I have a lot of ambitions for 2020, some of them as big as "Write the Notorious Sequel". Some of them as arbitrary as "Wear the same black dress for a week styled differently and document it on instagram" and some dependent on the blessinng of my hairdresser like "go really blonde for a while"

But one of them is to send out this newsletter once a month, like clockwork in 2020, so hopefully you should be able to expect to get these regularly for the next 12 months at least, to chronicle the year of publication of THE NOTORIOUS VIRTUES. And hopefully I'll be able to share things with you like how my process works, writing advice, publication behind the scenes...

So look out for that in your inboxes!

My Top Reads of 2019

There were a ton of books I loved in 2019, and these are just some of them that stand out.

But in particular I recommend you do SADIE on Audiobook because: WOW that production value. The bits that are narrated like a podcast...really sound like a podcast. I was the only person I know who did it on audio instead of reading and I think it affected me a lot more as a result.

And the Julia Quinn Bridgerton series...well, fair warning it's not YA, and it gets on the steamy side. And also the book I've put below is book 4 of the series, which is my fave, but definitely start from the beginning if you don't want spoilers! (P.S I am beyond excited for the Shondaland Bridgerton Series coming this year!)

Most Anticipated 2020 Books

How could I possibly chose? So here's just 4 of many yet again.

I am a HUGE fan of Marie Rutkoski's THE WINNER'S CURSE Trilogy so I am SO excited she has a new book out this year.

Tara Sim's SCAVENGE THE STARS comes out next week! So it's at the front of my mind.

After loving THE BEAUTIFUL you better believe I am bugging Renée on the daily for THE DAMNED.

And of course, who isn't excited (and a little anxious) for our return to the world of THE HUNGER GAMES.

2019 Books Spilling into 2020

Listen, sometimes you bookstagram a book and then it is too beautiful to carry around in your bag and risk damaging so it sits on your bedside table for several months (SERPENT & DOVE). OR! You bookstagram it then Samantha Shannon "borrows it" and you have yet to see it again (WICKED SAINTS).

Or you Download it on Audiobook and you end up re-listening to podcasts instead because everyone say it's so amazing and you really want to focus on it (DAISY JONES AND THE SIX).

And sometimes you look at a book and go "Why is this 1 Bestseller, what's the deal" but the New Year just kind of puts you in a motivational book kinda mood (GIRL, WASH YOUR FACE).
