The most sinister aspect of the Deep State is this:

No matter how much voting you do, nothing changes.

It's truly horrifying.

I talk about some pretty discouraging things sometimes on the Tom Woods Show. In this dispatch to you I can't bring myself to discuss the Iran situation.

It is, however, an opportune moment to remember that when Harry Browne wrote How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World, he wasn't speaking primarily about freedoms that can be won through politics -- which is a very, very tough nut to crack.

He was speaking about freedom more colloquially. Freedom in the sense of living the kind of happy life you want, and as unconstrained as possible by things you hate.

I just listened to a podcast episode that reminded me of this.

Adam Schneider, one of my listeners, bought a print-on-demand training program I promoted and really threw himself into it. Before long he was bringing in between $3,000 and $4,000 per month doing it.

So he started the Sales on Demand podcast in 2018 to teach people about what he was doing. When Michael Heise of the Libertarian Party Mises Caucus wanted help with merchandise, I naturally sent him to Adam (who then did a podcast episode on print-on-demand for nonprofits!).

I just got done listening to Adam's 2019 year-in-review episode and learned that in December of 2019 he did $23,000 in sales.

That's awesome, no matter how you slice it.

That's more freedom for himself than he'll get from all the votes he casts in his entire life. He does something he enjoys, and he does it whenever and from wherever he wants.

I have a whole folder of emails like this.

Now:

Being an entrepreneur like Adam is not for everyone.

There's plenty of work involved, at least at first, and there's uncertainty. But there can also be freedom.

Curious? I wrote a free eBook (what else?) on some approaches I myself have taken, and I'll bet it gives you some good ideas of your own.

Enjoy:
