2019 has been a trying, but productive year for LSPCA. We have accomplished so much but there is still so much work left to do. We plan to continue our Low-Cost Spay/Neuter program, our in-school program working with children to promote proper animal care and the ethical treatment of animals and work with local leaders to get better county laws in place to protect animals from those who abuse, neglect or abandon them.

The "Trash Babies" are now the Sesame Street Kids - Oscar, Grover, Rosita, and Grundgetta! As you probably remember, back in late October someone took a litter of hours-old puppies, triple-bagged them with the top tied and put them in a trash can near the car wash on Grace Avenue. Fortunately, a good samaritan heard their cries and rescued them by immediately calling Animal Control who brought them to LSPCA. Several of the puppies were deceased, but four managed to survive. They have been bottle-fed, vetted, and loved by our dedicated team and these babies are thriving! At this time, two have been adopted and two are still available. Christmas Eve Cookout at the
Lancaster County Animal Shelter
One of our favorite events is our annual Christmas Eve Shelter Cookout "Tailgate" party for the animals who have found themselves spending the holidays at the shelter. We thank everyone who donated items from our Amazon Wishlist or dropped items in our collection bin. We were able to give these babies a special day with hamburgers for the dogs, real tuna for the cats, a new blanket, bed, and toys for all. What a special day it was!
