Technique Talk:
Die cutting tips:
~Old cutting plates can have paper and dirt imbedded in the plastic, as well as scratches that can damage your die cuts. To protect your die cut from smudges and creases, place a piece of copy paper down before adding your top plate.
~Intricate die cuts can be difficult to adhere. Attach a piece of double sided tape (like DieCut and Bond) to the back of your cardstock before diecutting. Once your die is cut, just remove the liner from the back of the diecut and stick!
~If your having trouble getting your die to cut, try putting the die near the edge of the platform, instead of in the center as there is more pressure on the edges.
~Having touble getting your paper out of the dies? Try dusting your die with talcum powder, anti static bag, or rub a dryer sheet over the die before diecutting.
~ Don't forget those tan embossing mats! You can use any shape die to emboss your cardstock instead of cutting it by using the tan embossing mat and adjusting your plate sandwich. You may have to play around a bit to get the right combination as every machine is a bit different!
~ Don't toss the negative when you've die cut something: they make great stencils!
~ Partial die cutting can give your die cuts a whole new look. Just offset the top cutting plate so it only covers the part of the die that you want cut and run it through your machine. Any part of the die that does not have the cutting plate on top of it will not cut - this is a great technique for decorative borders!
~You can make your own foam stamps by diecutting the design out of sticky back foam and attaching the die cut foam to a piece of thick foam to act as a handle.

Class Policy:
Reservations and payment are required for all classes. Only cash or check payment is accepted for class fees. Payment for classes can be mailed in or made in person. Classes that do not meet attendance requirements will be canceled and you will be notified by phone the day before. Any monies paid will be refunded or you can apply it to another class. If you cancel a class with less than 48 hours notice, you will be required to pay for that class.
