You can enter under the Wilmslow Guild AV Group or if you prefer for you own Photographic Group. We usually have about 30+ entries from a wide range of L&CPU clubs which makes for  a very enjoyable day.

Tony will comment constructively on all the entries.

You can send in your entries by WeTransfer or bring them along to the next meetings.
The entry form is available HERE

Last Meeting - 13th December

Christmas Competition & Social

The Theme for the 2019 Christmas Competition was 'I Never Thought ...'

We had a good competition with 10 entries.
Most were short & snappy with a good sprinkling of humour.
There were also the inevitable references to the previous day's General election.

The audience voted for their favourites :-

1st Place - 'Granny P' by Jeff Mansell, with a little help from his 3 grandaughters.

2nd Place - 'A Growing Success' by Jill K. Bunting
3rd Place - 'Who Was Pulling The Strings' by Howard Bagshaw

Unfortunately the Trophy couldn't be presented as the previous receipient - Eric Davies - was unwell & couldn't make the meeting. The Trophy will be presented to Jeff at the next meeting.

After viewing the sequences we then enjoyed a buffet with food prepared by the members.
Thank you to everyone who contributed & special thanks to Monica for making the table look so festive.

1st November - An Exchange of Sequences
With the Cleethorpes AV Group & Northern Ireland AV Group

Some club members do not travel to other events & competitions, so rarely see work outside of their own club. The idea of the exchange is to see work produced by different regions and to receive feedback. This is not a competition or to show new or the 'best' work from the club, but that from a range of members at all levels. It is more like a 'Members Sequence Evening' where the work is discussed & constructive comments made.
This way each Group will benefit from the comments & see a range of work at all levels from different areas.

This is the first of the Exchange evenings where we will look at some of the work from both Groups with plenty of time for discussion. The remaining sequences will be viewed in January.

15th November - Exploring PTE10
A run through of all the new features in the latest version of PTE

Saturday 16th November - L&CPU PDI Knockout at Elm Bank Conference Centre, Eccles

13th December - Mince Pie & Christmas Competition
A not-too-serious competition judged by the Audience - this year’s theme is ‘I Never Thought ...
The maximum duration is 5 minutes.
This will be followed by our Christmas social with refreshments.

24th January - An Exchange of Sequences
With the Cleethorpes AV Group & Northern Ireland AV Group

Some club members do not travel to other events & competitions, so rarely see work outside of their own club. The idea of the exchange is to see work produced by different regions and to receive feedback. This is not a competition or to show new or the 'best' work from the club, but that from a range of members at all levels. It is more like a 'Members Sequence Evening' where the work is discussed & constructive comments made.
This way each Group will benefit from the comments & see a range of work at all levels from different areas.

7th February - An Evening With Tony Collinson LRPS DPAGB
Tony has been involved with AV since the days of Twin Projectors and the Immatronic fade unit when I, along with a colleague presented shows to many of the camera clubs in the YPU area.
I have been producing AV’s digitally for some years now and tend to create documentary style sequences. The travel and research involved in this style of work I find both challenging and rewarding. I also enjoy photographing Rare Birds and Steam Trains.

Tony will show a selection of his work and talk about how he made them.
