More than Meat

As well as the landscapes, activities, and people, global travellers also tend to take great interest in what food they can expect to tuck into when travelling abroad. Whether you're looking into the types of curry to expect in India, or the range of sea food dishes in the Meditteranean, you can often hazard a good guess at what you'll be eating and are able to set your expectations. However that's not always the case with Mongolia. What is Mongolian food like? What do they eat? Well, it's not all meat, mutton, sheeptail and offal - although, if that's your bag, you'll be well catered for! Mongolians, after all, are more likely to commit to Hamuary than Veganuary. However, in addition to staple foods, you can expect an incredible blend of European and Asian influences when visiting Mongolia, along with a unique handful of Mongolian dishes - some of which you might even be craving once you get home. Did someone mention huushuur? I think I can smell it from here. Find out more in this month's Mongolian Cuisine blog.
