2020 Membership Drive - Winner of Tiger Moth Ride!

Individuals that renewed or purchased a 2020 membership before December 31, 2019, were entered into a draw for a ride in the Tiger Moth once summer arrives – or at least a warm spring day.

We’re pleased to announce that the lucky winner is Murray May of Saskatoon! Congratulations!

We thank everyone who purchased a 2020 membership. Your support is helping to build a museum that showcases our rich aviation history and provide a unique learning experience for all.

Hosting Visitors

On January 14 we had a great day showcasing the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum and Learning Centre, as well as discussing our province's rich aviation history with several Saskatchewan MLA's and friends.  It’s wonderful to be able to raise awareness of the museum and we thank these MLA’s and guests for visiting us.

What better way to pass the winter than by learning something new – or brushing off the cobwebs! The museum is offering the following Ground School courses this winter:

February 8 - 8:00 to 17:00 - $100 - Tiger Moth
February 29 – 9:00 to 15:00 - $60 - Chipmunk
March 7 – 9:00 to 15:00 - $60 - Harvard
March 14 – 9:00 to 15:00 - $60 - Basic Float Flying
March 21 – 9:00 to 15:00 - $60 - Tracker
March 28 – 9:00 to 15:00 - $60 - Glider Ground School
April 4 & 5 (2 day) - 9:00 to 15:00 - $100- Fabric Installation

Quoted prices are for non-members. Museum members will receive a $10 discount, Coffee and lunch will be provided.

Plans have already started for our annual Aviation Days. Watch for more information as plans come together for this exciting event and a major fundraiser for the museum!

The Saskatchewan Aviation Historical Society operating as the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum and Learning Centre is a non-profit and a registered charity. Donations help us to meet our overhead costs, support programing, enable restoration projects, and raise capital to secure the museum’s future.

Do you have a flying tale to tell? 

Dena Driver is collecting stories for publication in the next volume of Flight: Stories of Canadian Aviation. The first volume contains stories from some of our locals, Don Macpherson and Dorrin Wallace, and is available in the museum Gift Shop. If you have stories to share, check out her invitation below.

Seeking submissions and stories for the next volumes of Flight: Stories of Canadian Aviation by Deana J. Driver and Contributors

DriverWorks Ink publishing in Regina, SK invites you (or someone you know) to submit your interesting, unique, human-interest aviation stories to be considered for publication in the next two volumes of the book Flight: Stories of Canadian Aviation. Volume 1 was released in October 2019 and has been well received. Deadlines for submissions for the next volumes are February 10 and May 31, 2020. Please send your submissions by email or mail to author-publisher Deana Driver or contact Deana (below) to make arrangements for her to interview you and write the story.

Submissions must be true short stories (no poems please) about events that occurred to Canadian pilots or other aviation personnel – true stories of danger, adventure, heroism, assistance, joy, silliness, misfortune, etc. Stories should be 1,000 to 2,500 words. Photos may be submitted upon acceptance of your story. Please provide details including your name, address, phone number, and email address, as well as the names, dates, location, and other details of the people and places in your story. All submissions will be accepted but not all will be published. Those whose stories are published will receive two complimentary copies of that volume of Flight, and will be able to purchase more copies at a 40% discount to sell at venues not supplied by DriverWorks Ink. Individual ($40) and Family* ($75) memberships provide these benefits:
