"Patchwork Cushion"

This is the perfect class if you have been interested in starting Patchwork or want to learn more skills. These two sampler cushions are easy to make but will give you the confidence to take on a larger project. Instructions will be given how to cut the required fabric using a rotary cutter and then how to sew them together. Patterns for the two different cushions will be given to the students. This is a great day to give you a “taste” of patchwork.

"Red Bird Needlebook"

Every sewer needs to needlebook and why not make a beautiful one that would look stunning in any sewing kit. Featuring the classic redwork design, Vicki will take you through the different stitches and how to finish the needlebook. Make it up and create the mini pincushion to match. This workshop is a relaxing and enjoyable day of stitching. The design will be preprinted onto linen so that you can start stitching straight away.

"Stack and Whack"

This is one of our most popular workshops. Great for beginners or for those who want to make a easy and simple quilt in a day. This quilt is fat quarter friendly and ideal to use up that fabric stash that most of us have. A fun day of sewing without stress and you will either have a finished or near finished quilt top at the end of it.

"Sashiko Workshop"

Sashiko is a form of Japanese embroidery. Featuring geometric and designs inspired by nature, it appeals to many. On the first day of this workshop we will look at several different designs, how  to stitch, materials to use and will start stitching on a preprinted sashiko panel (several designs to choose from).

On the second day you will create your own design using various sashiko patterns that can be stitched into a cushion, wallhanging or table runner.

Workshop fee includes the pre-printed panel, thread, needles and transfer pen.

"My English Garden Cushion"

Have you wanted to try your hand English Paper Piecing? Fussy cutting something you have been wanting to try but not too sure how to go about it? Then this is the perfect workshop. Vicki will take you through the sets of how to create your hexagons and other shapes using paper pieces, fussy cut and sew them together and then to applique onto your background fabric. You will get a small part of this cushion finished in the workshop and have the confidence and instructions to complete it.

"My Butterfly Garden Bag"

This beautiful stitchery features several different stitches and is suitable for all skill levels. You will start stitching on the day and full instructions will be provided for finishing this mini bag. The bag is perfect for storing all your sewing bits and pieces. The design will be pre-printed on the linen so you are ready to start stitching! This is a fun filled day of stitching.

"Concertina Bag"

This attractive drawstring bag is just perfect to take your sewing to classes in or to use as a mini handbag. Mixing two fabrics it sews together easily and embellished with ric rac. A great class for all skill levels this is a fun day of sewing. Sewing Machine required for this workshop.

"The Birdhouse Mini Bag"

This mini drawstring bag features a beautiful embroidery panel pocket full of flowers and a birdhouse. In this workshop you will be working on the embroidery, stitching selection of stitches including buttonhole, stem stitch, colonial knots and others. The design will be pre-printed on the linen so you are ready to start stitching and instructions will be provided on how to finish the bag.

This is a great day of stitching to expand and develop your embroidery skills.

“Lined Tins”

In this workshop you will be creating these these beautiful lined tins. We all have old tins and these make them extra special. Vicki will show you how to line your tin to give them a whole new look. On the day you can also work on the beautiful embroidered chatelaine to match your tin.

This is a new event for us this year. This is a weekend of sit, sewing and stitching – whether you like embroidery, English paper piecing, handwork, knitting and more this is the perfect event to attend and to work on whatever project you like. It is about having fun and meeting new people. Get a group of friends together or come by yourself and have an enjoyable weekend away. There will be giveaways throughout the weekend and everyone will receive a goodies bags containing a mini kit from both Amberwood Designs and Berrima Design and more goodies! Stitching in the Highlands will be held at Mittagong RSL, there are several accommodation options in the area. Food is not included in the fee however the RSL has a selection of meal/drink and food options.
