No School for students on Monday in remembrance of Martin Luther King Jr.
Teachers are reporting for an in-service day. Classes resume on Tuesday. Enjoy the day!
Starting January 17, students from Guardian Angels School will join students from 89 other schools across Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota in selling $5 tickets. Each ticket purchased gives ticket buyers the opportunity to win a 2020 Buick Encore (or $20,000 in cash), or other great prizes totaling $40,000 in value. Best of all, every penny of every ticket sold stays at Guardian Angels thanks to the Raffle’s sole sponsor Catholic United Financial. The St. Paul-based company provides all the prizes and promotion materials for the Raffle at no cost to the participating schools.
Our school goal is $14,000. Every student Preschool through 8th grade will be sent home an envelope with raffle tickets to sell. Preschoolers need to sell $50 (10 tickets). Kindergarten through 8th grade needs to sell $200 (40 tickets). Students are to bring back the white envelopes each Friday with the money & ticket stubs from the tickets they sold each week.
Raffle tickets can be sold before and after mass at Guardian Angels Church, St. Nicholas, and St. Bernards every weekend between now (January 17th) through March 17th. Here is the link to sign up for one of the time slots.
More information about the Catholic United Financial Raffle & prizes is enclosed in the white envelope that was sent home with your child.
We are excited for this opportunity to raise more funds for our school. Please let us know if you have any questions.
All bowling field trip permission slips are due back on Tuesday. Please make sure you find them and send them back in. If you need another form please let us know.
Thank You!

Lunch Notes
Did you know we have a Health and Wellness Policy? It might be time to help the kids (mostly the older students)remember the importance of healthy lunches and healthy snacks. Sometimes we need to check on what they pack for their lunch. Students may not have soda or energy drinks at school. They may always purchase milk to drink for lunch. Water or juice is also a good choice. Thank you for choosing food that is good for them.
The Girls win again!
The Sabre Girls basketball team is on a roll. They now have another win under their belt. The girls played St. Michael's Tuesday evening and won with a score of 30-26. Their season record stands at 3 wins and one loss so far. Keep up the good work!

The third, fourth, and fifth grades were engaged in doing a lesson from Mystery Science on graphing active volcanoes in the world. K through 5th is trying out this Mystery Science program. The students really like the discussions that Mystery Doug initiates. They then delve into a lesson on the topic.
Kindergarten has a weekly Play-Doh challenge. This week they were challenged to divide a log of Play-Doh in half and then take one half and divide that into two pieces. They then had to change their big piece into a ball for the bottom of the snowman, change another piece into the head, and the last piece somehow had to make arms, a hat, and a face. They did a good job of following multi-step directions. Here are a few of their creations.
