DEMOCRAT JOY SILVER LOOKS TO UPROOT SEN. STONE
PALM SPRINGS — Joy Silver, a Democrat, for state Senate District 28 is fighting to unseat incumbent Republican state Sen. Jeff Stone in November.
The vast 28th District, which is entirely in Riverside County, stretches from the vineyards of the Temecula Valley to the Colorado River and includes the cities of Blythe, Canyon Lake, Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, Lake Elsinore, La Quinta, Murrieta, Temecula, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, and Wildomar.

ROMERO EARNS POWERFUL ENDORSEMENT OF UNIONS
After what has been described as a “spirited debate,” Elizabeth Romero, D-Indio, has snagged the coveted endorsement of UFCW Local 1167 in her bid for the 28th state Senate District seat, President Joe Duffle told Uken Report.
The endorsement, which Romero earned with a majority of the vote, comes less than a week after 28th Senate District delegates to the state Democratic Party voted 47-18 to endorse her opponent, Joy Silver, D-Palm Springs. [more...]

5 CANDIDATES QUALIFY FOR SENATE DISTRICT 28 RACE
RIVERSIDE —And, now there are five. Four women and one man have qualified to be on the March 3 ballot to fill the vacant seat in state Senate District 28.
