Urban Stories Festival
People of all ages are welcomed to the Urban Stories Festival, an annual storytelling festival taking place January 22 - 26 at various locations. Enjoy a guided bike tour, open mic, dance performance, writing workshop, shared stories of West Palm Beach, and more! All activities are free and open to the public. Venetian Carnevale
Cavort with the masked, feathered, and leathered at the Armory Art Center’s masquerade ball on Thursday, January 23! Hand-crafted artists’ masks will be available for purchase at this spectacular fundraising gala. Tickets for the event are $300. "Water By The Spoonful"
Actor's Rep Theatre, located at 1000 N. Dixie Highway, is debuting their production of "Water By The Spoonful" on Friday, January 17. The play tells the tale of the struggles of loss, grieving and recovery. The show will run through Friday, January 26. Tickets are $25 and $10 for students with a valid ID. January 22 – Library Shelfie Day
Not your everyday selfie. This quirky holiday is an opportunity for all book lovers to share “shelfie” photos with their favorite bookshelves at their library. Visit the Mandel Public Library, located at 411 Clematis Street, and share what you’re reading by using the hashtag #LibraryShelfieDay. Don’t forget to tag WPBAEDistrict on all social media platforms!
January 25 – National Florida Day
West Palm Beach is rich in Floridian history! The Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum showcases the rich history of Palm Beach County and the larger context of Florida’s heritage dating back at least 12,000 years. February – Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden is proud to present Gospel in the Gardens. Enjoy guided tours and listen to the “good news” songs of this beloved American art form. Picnic lunches and seated lunch service at Ann Norton Al Fresco will be offered. The concert runs from 1 - 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 2. For more information, visit ansg.org or call (561)832-5328.
