Happy New Year! As you are reading this, I hope you have eaten your good luck black eyed peas, greens, and cornbread (peas for pennies, greens for dollars, and cornbread for gold), or lentils (lentils for wealth and prosperity because the flat legumes were believed to resemble Roman coins) or anything else you have heard that might make this your best year ever!
Preparations are being made for Staff Appreciation Week, May 4-8. We are looking for donations from businesses in the area. If you are willing to make a donation please contact Laurie Gruenloh. It is a great way to say thank you and it is tax deductible!
If you are interested in helping on the Staff Appreciation committee please contact her as well. There is always much to do.

Speaking of honoring great work: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."” January 20th is a school holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King. Are you in the mood for another mini vacation but would rather not mess with the make up work? No need, enjoy this extra day without jeopardizing your students perfect attendance record!
FME Family Traditions Night
On January 23rd, we will celebrate the diverse makeup of our school! We are asking for volunteers to bring their favorite family traditions to share with others. These traditions may include: food, dress, songs, or dances! We have so enjoyed this event for the past 2 years and we look forward to another great night celebrating together!
