Mount Dennis Summit on the climate emergency

Great response as the project launches.   If you or your organization want to participate or be on the focused mailing list, drop us a line at summit@mountdennis.ca   We expect to have our first event in late February, with the two day summit event at the end of March.

An Invitation to the York South Weston Annual Muslim Community Event.

You are  invited to the annual community gathering on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 6.30 P.M., to be held at the George Harvey Collegiate auditorium, 1700 Keele Street.  There will be a special program, presented by Muslim youth (Boys & Girls) along with foods & refreshments specially prepared by the community to be served at the event.  Families will be attending this large gathering from all over the city. MDCA encourages everyone to attend and celebrate our diverse community.

Toastmasters

Would you like to improve your public speaking skills and your confidence in front of others? Toastmasters is an organization that helps people do just that. They hold weekly meetings where participants perform fun exercises with the goal of becoming more confident in social situations.

According to an old survey, most people fear public speaking more than death itself. Toastmasters can help with that.

A brand new Weston / Mount Dennis branch of Toastmasters is opening on January 23 at 7:00 at the Artscape Weston Hub - 34 John Street. Meetings last 90 minutes and are held weekly.

Skull Store, the only place in Mount Dennis to buy an embalmed anencephalitic human fetus (check out the website!), has had to move. They say “It’s the classic Toronto story – the building that houses our museum and store has been sold to developers and they are going to demolish it. We were given only 2 months to secure a new location and safely move well over 20,000 specimens – ranging from beads made from dinosaur poop to an entire pilot whale skeleton!”

The Skull Store also offered a free natural history museum. The new location is 397 Dundas St E, Toronto.
