Welcome to APOST's New Director!

Allegheny Partners for Out-of-School Time of the United Way of Southwestern PA is pleased to announce the selection of Stephanie Lewis as the new APOST Director. APOST experienced significant growth under the direction of Kathryn Vargas, former Director.  In 2019, APOST provided professional development for 924 youth practitioners, promoted quality programming among 60 agencies impacting over 56,000 youth and continues to convene system-level collaborations among programs and partners. Stephanie is very excited to continue working with the APOST team and members of the APOST alliance to ensure youth across the county have access to quality afterschool programming.

APOST PD
The next two upcoming APOST trainings are here, are back to back, and a great way to ring in the new decade! First up is (re)Designing Space(s) on Friday February 7th, where participants will gain insights from collaborating professionals—architects, designers, and informal learning space providers--to help you better mold your space and fit the needs of your youth. The next day, Saturday February 8th, we'll kick off our first weekend double workshop with Stages of Youth Development and Basic Teaching Strategies. Stages of Youth Development reviews the four basic areas of human development as it relates to the various age groups of youth. After a short break, Teaching Strategies will help us review various learning styles as well as multiple intelligences and best practices and techniques to ensure that all children are learning in the way(s) that fits them best.
