The year 2020 begins with a wind of change at the Office of the Administrator of the Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods.
 
The Fund now has a new Director, Marc André Sirois.
In 2020, we will continue to actively increase the Fund’s readiness for the assessment and payment of eligible claims, in the event of a major crude-by-rail accident.

La nouvelle année s’entame avec un vent de changement au bureau de l’Administratrice de la Caisse d’indemnisation pour les accidents ferroviaires impliquant des marchandises désignées.
 
Le Caisse a désormais un nouveau directeur, Marc André Sirois.
 
En 2020, nous allons continuer à progresser en matière de préparation de la Caisse à recevoir et à traiter les demandes d’indemnisation éligibles en cas d’accident ferroviaire majeur impliquant du pétrole brut.

Our new director:

With many years of experience in the fields of insurance and risk management in housing, and as the former Director of Legal Services (Insurance servicing) at the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Marc André is an important addition to our team.
  • He has worked closely with the provinces and first responders to ensure that claims were settled in emergency situations, such as forest fires, floods, etc., across Canada.
Notre nouveau directeur :

Ayant œuvré dans les domaines de l’assurance et de la gestion de risque en matière d’habitation pendant plusieurs années, et en tant qu’ancien directeur des Services juridiques (services d'assurance) à la Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement, Marc André est un ajout important à notre équipe.
  • Il a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec les provinces et les premiers intervenants pour s’assurer de régler les demandes d’indemnisation dans des situations d’urgence, telles que feux de forêts, inondations, et autres, à travers le Canada.
