AOI Members Exhibition
Kirkland, WA, USA / March 2021
Greetings,
The Society for Art of Imagination is pleased to announce that we are producing a major exhibition of high-quality, imaginative, representational art, which will take place March 16 - April 24, 2021, at the Kirkland Arts Center, in Kirkland, WA, USA. It is an honour to invite you to submit artworks (or sketches/ideas for artworks in progress), to be considered for this exhibition.
Because our association with masters such as Ernst Fuchs, H.R. Giger, Alex Grey, Laurie Lipton and Brigid Marlin imbues some cultural importance onto the Society for AOI, it is our responsibility to assemble exhibitions of a calibre which lives up to what is expected of such an organization. While we aim to include all Society members in good standing who would like to participate, there will be a robust jurying process, and we urge everyone to submit their best, representational work. The exhibited collection will consist of inspiring, imaginative, original artworks which demonstrate a high level of technical craftsmanship. Prints will not be accepted, unless they are of utmost quality.
If you would like your art to be part of this very special exhibition, please send three to six jpeg files of appropriate, available work to AOIexhibition@gmail.com along with titles, dimensions, and media, as well as your name. It is recommended that these files be at least 1000 pixels on their longer side.
Submission deadline for the first step of the jurying process is March 15, 2020. Again, the show is in *2021*
All submitted work will be reviewed by jurors directly associated with AOI, who will select everyone’s’ best pieces, to be sent on to jurors affiliated with the Kirkland Arts Center. Though the KAC jurors will have the right to reject work they do not feel is appropriate, it is our goal to send them an irresistible body of work which is already beautifully curated.
Any Society member who does not have their work selected will be given the opportunity to send different work for consideration, in a process which, hopefully, results in everyone being included with their best, most appropriate artwork(s). Your submission does not necessarily guarantee your inclusion, though we will do our best to include everyone who sends fine and serious work.
Like our Society, the Kirkland Arts Center was founded in 1962. They are located in a charming, late 19th century brick building in the center of downtown Kirkland, and are deeply connected to the regional arts community through classes, exhibitions and other events. (Kirkland is a small and prosperous city, a satellite city to Seattle, and home to many people who are affiliated with Microsoft and Boeing.). The KAC exhibition space is fairly large, spread out on two levels, with high ceilings and great lighting. They host well attended opening receptions and are known and beloved to collectors and local art aficionados. Our collaboration with them promises to be very special and we hope you will be a part of it.
