Dear CT-CTE Member,

We value your membership with the Connecticut Council of Teachers of English (CT-CTE).  One of the benefits of membership is an outstanding mentoring program. This year, ELA mentors and mentees around the state have been matched and working together on best practices.  We would love for you to participate as a mentor or mentee during the 2020-2021 school year!

The CT-CTE mentoring opportunity is a one-year process in which both mentors and mentees engage in professional relationships that are confidential, respectful, and committed to each other’s growth.  The mentors have the opportunity to work closely with mentees, sharing their expertise, skills, and passion, while fostering the growth and development of professionals in the field. The mentees have the opportunity to receive support, guidance, feedback, and practical knowledge from enthusiastic experts who are committed to their success.

Meetings are used to set goals, monitor, and check in on progress, but meetings are flexible in that the mentors and mentees will determine agreed upon times and locations.  Meetings can take place in a variety of settings, such as by phone, in person, or virtually (e.g., Skype, Google Hangout, and Zoom). Mentees and mentors can determine the time and location.  

If you have seven or more years of experience, please consider registering as a mentor.  If you are at any level of your career (e.g., entry, midway, or veteran) and seek additional support, please consider registering as a mentee.  Registrations will be accepted from now until May 9 at the annual conference.
