Monthly Meeting Highlights
The Monthly HOA Meeting was held on January 13, 2020 at 7:00 pm at the Lenexa Public Market. Board members in attendance were: Martha Akins, Judy Transue, Denise Fast, Ashley Shadel, Thom Thomlison, Michelle Kring and Treka Henry. Residents are invited and encouraged to attend any of the monthly meetings. The next meeting will be on Monday, February 10th at the Lenexa City Center Library.
TOPICS DISCUSSED:
- HOA Annual Dues and Financials
- Landscaping contract review of common areas
- Architecture update
- Upcoming pool house repairs and maintenance, and pool security camera check
On behalf of the board and residents, a big thank you to outgoing board member Janet Lien. During her six years of service she served in both the Secretary and Social Chair positions and will be missed. On that note we also welcome new board members: Thom Thomlison, 1st Vice President, who has previously served and first-time board member Ashley Shadel, Social Chair.

SNOW SAFETY TIPS FROM CITY OF LENEXA
Park your vehicles in the driveway clear of the roadway and curb. Vehicles parked in the roadway or extending out of driveways and over curbs add to the obstacles the drivers already encounter, which hinders their performance and ability to clear snow and ice in a timely manner. Please keep in mind that residential streets are given second priority in plowing due to the smaller number of vehicles traveling on them. Lenexa crews begin focusing on residential streets after the main roadways are clear.

Soup Kitchen Project
Come help serve your community on first Saturdays of the month! The group will leave from Karen Miltko’s house at 10:00 a.m. We would love for you to come – it is SO worthwhile! Please contact Karen Miltko at (913) 302-2230 or DolliMat@aol.com if you are interested in serving at St. Mary’s Kitchen on first Saturdays. You can also RSVP on the HOA FB site by clicking here. Also, please continue to save toiletries such as lotions, shampoos, conditioners, toothbrush items and other personal necessities. Next dates for volunteering: February 1 and March 7.

Movie Night for the Ladies of BWP
Tuesday, January 28: The group will meet at Minsky's on Midland Road at 5:00 pm for a bite to eat. Following dinner, the group will head over to the B&B theater; Karen will have a list of movies that the group can see. This is an annual event.

ARCHITECTURE
Winter is upon us and exterior work to our homes continues. As residents continue to make updates to their homes, please remember to contact Kevin Knipp regarding any exterior prior to beginning the project. This must be approved by the architecture committee before the work is done. This includes new roofs, painting the exterior of your home (even if it is the same color choice) and any project for the outside of your home. We want to ensure that the work aligns with our bylaws. Advertise with Brookwood Place!
BWP Residents' children can advertise their services in the monthly newsletter free of charge. We will have a section with the child's name, contact info, and services offered (ie: mowing, babysitting, etc.) If a more extensive ad is wanted, a regular ad (see below) can be purchased. Our regular advertising will continue to be offered. If you have a business or service that you wish to advertise to our neighborhood, please consider using our newsletter as the advertising avenue. The BWP resident costs are quite low and will reach all of our BWP residents.
Payments should be made to "Brookwood Place Homes Association" and mailed to our address: PO Box 15372, Lenexa, KS 66285. Send the ad to the BWP email address, bwplenexa@gmail.com. Prices for the ad are as follows:
