Today's Rule: "Start taking care of your bodies, your mentals and your chicken." –Marshawn "Beast Mode" Lynch

In what could possibly be the last postgame press conference of his NFL career, Seattle Seahawks running back and successful entrepreneur Marshawn Lynch went out with a bang on Sunday and offered young players some life and financial advice that even those of us watching at home can use: take care of your body, your mental health, and your money a.k.a "chicken."
One of the smartest players in the league (he graduated high school with a 3.5 GPA and a 1200 SAT score; and achieved a 3.2 GPA as a student athlete at UC Berkeley), Lynch has been practicing what he preaches for years. He used the estimated $57 million he's earned in the NFL to open several businesses including his Beast Mode clothing brandBeast Mode apparel store, Rob Ben's restaurant, and BeastMobile, a communications store.

Below are some practical tools to get your money, body, and mind right like Beast Mode said.

Money

Do you know where your money goes each month? I was having trouble keeping track, so I've been using the Truebill app for about a month to help me track my monthly subscription fees and recurring bills, and just get my finances in order overall. It's been helpful and I've already cancelled three unnecessary and rarely used app subscriptions that I forgot I even had.

Body

You may have heard the saying that fitness is 80% your diet and 20% exercise. If you're interested in adopting a plant-based diet and lifestyle, check out The Secret Sauce Superfood + Spice Kit from Black-owned wellness company Superfood School. And be on the lookout for my exclusive interview with founder Lynnette Astaire later this week!

Mental

My new favorite app is Elevate, a brain training and gaming app that helps you improve communication and analytical skills. From practicing how to calculate tips to improving my reading comprehension, I've found that it's a more entertaining and productive use of my idle time than scrolling Instagram and Twitter.
