Transped, a European leader in intermodal traffic.

Haydar Aksel, Intermodal Traffic Management Transped and Ewald Grasi, Intermodal Services & Business Development Transped, received ICTS at its premises in Wörgl, Austria. Both companies are cooperating regarding intermodal services.

ICTS is proposing to extend the existing service cooperation to the rental of new equipment like Huckepack standard or mega curtainsided trailers, swap bodies and lightweight chassis'.

In fact, ICTS has quite some interesting proposals about combining the rental of equipment with the 'Full Service' approach. The idea of ICTS becoming a 'one stop shop' for Transped is on the table!

Transped is using the Zeebrugge terminals for Ro-Ro and intermodal traffic between the UK and Italy. ICTS is present at the terminals with several service vans to check and repair each Transped unit. ICTS keeps the intermodal Transped fleet in perfect condition.

Massimo Dodoni visits ICTS.

On Thursday, December 19th, Massimo Dodoni, Board Member at Kögel, visited ICTS' premises in Zeebrugge, Belgium.
“Current restrictions on capex in Europe, together with the ageing of existing fleets, are creating new opportunities for rental companies” is Massimo's message. He continues: “Now that the uncertainty around Brexit is clearing up, two more issues need to be resolved: the downturn of the automotive industry and tariff discussions between US and China”.

Kögel has delivered many standard trailers to ICTS' clients. One example is Anterist+Schneider (DB Schenker Group), which has been renting 60 Kögel Ferry Huckepack Curtainsided trailers from ICTS for many years.

Before leaving, Mr. Massimo Dodoni visited ICTS' 29 bay workshop facility and the new MOT hall under construction. The result of the visit was a very constructive business review and a positive outlook for the Kögel - ICTS cooperation in 2020.

Long-standing partners in Italy-UK intermodal traffic.

Alessandro Odisio, COO of Alberti e Santi and Christopher Mascaux, Field Service Manager of ICTS, reviewed 2019 and discussed the possibilities and outlook. One of the topics was the question of whether Brexit would affect volumes and bottom line during 2020.

Both companies have been working together for many years at the terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium. ICTS ensures Alberti e Santi’ swap bodies are loaded in good order from the Ro-Ro vessel onto the train at the CLdN terminal. Both companies value their service partnership within the Italy - UK - Italy partnership.

Since 1959, Alberti e Santis objective has been to offer global services for transport and integrated logistics, distinguished by a flexible organizational structure and with a human aspect offering a personal touch. The ‘International Freight Forwarder’ wants to guarantee a service in which speed, punctuality and safety are key elements, allowing AeS to assure its clients of maximum trustworthiness and reliability.

By opening the UK headquarters in 1993, regular transports from Italy to UK became a crucial selling point and also provided the opportunity to implement intermodal transport utilizing swap bodies, a service which now represents one of the company’s strong points.

“How can we best describe your core business?”
"We are a logistics service provider in the broadest sense of the word. We can provide a complete service – in other words we have resources in-house not just for storage and transport but also for airfreight, inland shipping, order desk, debtor management and more. Our focus is on the Benelux for storage and transport, but we offer worldwide coverage for Forwarding, both in import and export and in customs handling. We consciously offer a very broad, complete menu of services. Our geographical focus is the Benelux; it evolved that way after we took over Eurobroker in 2016, since when we have grown towards a Benelux approach in response to our customers' wishes; national borders are becoming blurred and our customers think in terms of the Benelux rather than purely nationally."

“What is a unique aspect of your company?”
"Two things come to mind: we truly have all the expertise in-house, and we have a very clear vision and goal – a “Wasteless Supply Chain”. This concept is not primarily about waste separation. It means we aim to eliminate everything that...
