January 2015
Dear <<First name*>>–
Happy New Year! I hope you and your loved ones enjoyed the festive season and 2020 is off to a great start for you. In this, my first email newsletter of the year—and a new decade!—I'd like to share some recent news and find out if there's anything I can do to help you in the year ahead.
The image above shows what the beginning of this year feels like to me! I made this photo (and the one further below) in New Zealand in 2009, It was such a productive trip that I am still working through all the images... I'll be publishing many more new works this year and making them available as photo art prints. Click each image to see a larger view.
First, our biggest news: In late-2019, Ruth and I opened our own art gallery in Royal Leamington Spa, England. Gallery Photiq (sounds like 'boutique') specialises in fine art photography—mine and other photographers'—and we also carry the work of several artists working in complementary mediums. We lead frequent classes and workshops and provide fine art printing services for artists and photographers.
The new Photiq website will see many updates over the coming months, so please visit and bookmark the site. We have a separate mailing list for the gallery: to get news from Photiq, please be sure register to receive our email newsletters and also connect with us on social media.
My teaching continues to reach new audiences along with long-time students. During 2019, I presented several workshops about fine art printing thanks to my great partnership with Epson UK. In September I enjoyed teaching a weekend workshop in Liverpool, for the Royal Photographic Society's Visual Arts Group. I also presented lectures at dozens of camera clubs around the UK. And this year I'll continue working on my forthcoming online courses at Photographic Design Workshop.
2019 was also another year of amazing travel experiences for us. In the spring, Ruth and I accompanied our longtime friends and clients from the US on a private photo tour of Romania. Transylvania is magical in a very old-world way, and we all enjoyed the people, traditions and—of course—the photography. We love putting together these photo trips for clients; if there is anywhere you'd like to go with us please email me and we'll work through the details.
So much to be thankful for ... and I am particularly grateful for the relationship you and I share (even if we've never met!). I sincerely appreciate your subscription to my email newsletter and for taking the time to read.
Please always feel free to get in touch if there is any way I can help you with art, photography or printing.
Wishing you and yours all the best in the coming year!
