Caring Faithfully
How does God want us to be faithful in caring for a woman considering her choices when facing unplanned pregnancy? At PSS, this is a question we often ask that goes to the very heart of our mission of offering help and hope to women and couples considering their choices in unplanned pregnancy.
We know while our culture is rapidly changing, God’s love for each of our clients doesn’t change. Our call to minister to women who are struggling and vulnerable doesn’t change.
So how do we care for women? We approach women in a non-judgmental way meeting them where they are. We listen to her story and help her see support systems in her life that she may not have considered. We offer support to allow her to see she has other choices and time to consider the options. We faithfully offer to pray with each client and we offer her a sticky notes Bible which tells of the hope found in Jesus.
What a phenomenal privilege to be a blessing to women at a time when they may feel alone and helpless.
Our theme for our 2020 Help and Hope Fundraising Dinner is:
“Caring Faithfully”
“So now wrap your heart tightly around the hope that lives within us, knowing that God always keeps his promises! Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love.”
-Hebrews 10:23-24 (The Passion Translation)
I think Hebrews 10:23-24 is a great reminder to us here at PSS, and I hope to you as a PSS partner as well, that God always keeps His promises, and we should always seek to find ways to encourage others through acts of compassion as we perform beautiful works as expressions of love.
