A New Decade of Wellness Begins with Self-Care

With another season of giving behind us, now is the time to give back to ourselves with good choices for self-care.

As we recharge our batteries while forging ahead into the new year, choosing to feed our spirit instead of our ego is at the heart of self-care.

How can we tell the difference? When our choices feel expansive and bring peace, they likely serve our spirit. When our choices feel contracting and bring us stress, tension or anxiety, they likely serve our ego.

Consider these questions as you prioritize nourishing your spirit:

  • Am I connecting with uplifting friends for encouragement and support?
  • Am I going with the flow (acceptance) or swimming upstream (resistance)?
  • Am I giving myself time in nature to ground to Mother Earth?
  • Am I meditating daily?
  • Am I asking for help instead of depleting myself by trying to do it all?

Before you begin your new year’s plan to balance diet and exercise with work, rest and play, take a few minutes to make choices for the care of your precious spirit. Achieving wellness, as in many of life’s endeavors, is a marathon, not a race. Slow and steady, sister.

For perspective on diet and fitness for the new decade, read the article here.

Want More Balance in Life for 2020?

Imbalance and our growing chronic and acute mental and health issues are linked to ever-increasing demands, expectations, distractions, and choices in our society. If balance starts with healthy choices, then:

Consider saying “Less” to
  • giving time to digital devices, social media and news
  • numbing our feelings with pills, drugs, alcohol and any other addictions and distractions that keep us from facing those feelings
  • striving for more money, possessions and/or activities as a measure of self-worth
  • over-working and staying busy, keeping us from showing up and being present
  • saying “maybe next time” and putting off time with others
Consider saying “Yes” to
  • showing up and relating to ourselves and each other
  • owning up to what we are feeling
  • sharing experiences and creating memories with others
  • getting comfortable with uncertainty and going with the flow
  • compassion, objectivity, and peace for ourselves and each other

Please join us in selecting “less” instead of “yes” and achieving more balance in life.

News & Updates

Staying true to balance, relating and self-care, we are discontinuing plans for business expansion. Rather than stretch resources too thin, we intend to focus on quality and customer service..

  • Taylor Hansen, our trainee in residency is relocating to Dubai. Wow! We wish her every success and happiness as she launches a career there.
  • Tirza Derflinger will serve clients on Mondays and Tuesdays in Boulder and on Thursdays in Fort Collins,  and perform presidential duties on Wednesdays.
  • Jayne Morrison will serve clients on Mondays and Thursdays in Centennial and on Tuesdays and Fridays in Lakewood and support Tirza's efforts, as needed, on Wednesdays.
  • Saturday appointments will be offered every other month in each location.
  • As Office Manager, Leslie Cary continues to excel in multi-tasking and flowing to meet the dynamic needs of the business.

As we head into 2020, please keep in mind:

  • All calls to our company go to voicemail - we cannot answer calls. Leslie transcribes them and we try to return calls by the next business day. To save on time/effort for all involved, please consider the portal and the green button labeled "Send/Read Messages." It's like texting on a cell phone.
  • All reports are posted into client portals as PDF files. We do not share or fax reports with anyone else, including doctors.
  • Since there are only two of us serving four locations, please schedule in advance to ensure you get the date and time of your choosing.
  • Click the "Schedule" button in the upper right hand corner of thermogramcenter.com to schedule an appointment at any location, pay a $50 deposit, and access your portal.
  • Click the "Portal" button when seeking your records/documents or to message us.
Thank you.

May every success and happiness be yours in 2020.
