Hello and a Happy New Year to all !

Shacklewell Families is back after a long and well deserved break. We hope you had a lovely holiday.

First, let’s look back at the Winter Fair - yes, it feels like ages ago.
If you have any feedback on the event, please do get in touch via info@shacklewellfamilies.com

We didn’t get to say thank you before the break so here it goes…

Thank you so much to Year 2 mum Lucy for her fantastic creation of the Santa’s Grotto !  It was a mighty feat and we also want to thank Lucy’s daughter, Bonnie, who had to share her mum for a few days… We are very pleased that so many children got to experience the Grotto, even after Santa and his elves had run out of presents.
Thank you to all the local businesses who contributed for generously to our Winter Fair.  Particularly those who donated prizes to the Raffle, a definite highlight of the event. Your contribution was much appreciated…
We must also give a huge thank you to all our Shacklewell Parents & Carers who contributed
  • Year 1 mum Sinem for her flower and wreath donation from her Flowershop
  • Year 2 mum Sam for donating a Reflexology treatment voucher
  • Year 1 mum Esen for donating a personalised candle
  • Year 6 mum Sarah for donating a Fuji Camera and for printing all of the raffle tickets
  • Year 2 mum Lucy for donating a family photo shoot session
  • Year 2 dad Sebastian for donating wine for the delicious mulled wine
  • Year 3 mum Jacqui for donating a box full of snow cone flavours
  • Reception mum Nicky for sourcing the Arcola theatre tickets
  • Reception dad Tim for baking 150 gingerbread men for the Grotto
We would also like to help the school staff for their help and support, in particular
  • Mr McGrath for his ongoing help and support and enthusiasm to make our events inclusive and successful
  • Ms Chaudhry for sourcing so many amazing prizes for raffle
  • Ms Paxton and Ms Jacqui for their face painting at the fair
  • Ms Michaela and Ms Betty for all their help and support
  • Coach Getty and coach Alex for their help with the monstrous gazebos for the Grotto
  • Jose and Kevin the premises managers for all their help before and after the event
And a special thank you goes to Father Niall from St. Paul’s church for kindly lending us their gazebos for the grotto and for drawing the raffle prizes.

Thank you to all of you who made private cash donations - you know who you are. Your donations allowed us to only spend as little as £280 towards the organization of the event – this means more goes towards the school to benefit the children.

And last but not least, thank you all of you who volunteered before, during or after the event - you all know who you are and we are incredibly lucky to have you.
We could never put on such amazing and successful events without the help and support of all the wonderful parents and carers who give up their valuable time to make, bake, cook, prep, and just help in any way possible to make our events happen.
** A little note to the parents who didn’t get to admire and enjoy the Christmas decorations they had kindly spent time preparing: due to a booking mix-up, we only had 45mn to decorate the Top Hall so what you saw was what we managed to install in such a short amount of time. We hope this doesn’t put you off helping again in the future. **

Thanks to all of you who came and hopefully enjoyed yourselves !

We raised an impressive  £ 2,612  all of which will be allocated to projects or acquisitions to benefit all children. We hope the success of our events will encourage more families to get involved and contribute in any way they can.

We hope this year will be filled with more amazing events.

All the best from

Emily & Anna, the co chairs

Sara & Chiara, the co secretaries

Catherine & Sarah, the co treasurers
